Call for Papers
 
The Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Association and the Xi’an University of Technology (XUT) are jointly organising the 4th Energy Finance conference. The conference will be held on April 20-21, 2019 at XUT, Xi’an, P. R. China. The aim of the conference is to present and discuss frontier research in all areas of finance related to energy markets, environment and green finance. Given the increasing role played by China in the global energy market, the conference also welcomes papers specifically on China.

TOPICS:
The conference encourages submissions of topics that broadly cover the theme of energy finance. Specific topics including but not limited to the following areas are specifically welcomed:
- Role of energy prices in macroeconomic performance;
- Role of energy prices in stability of financial markets;
- Climate change and implications for energy pricing;
- Pricing, hedging, and risk analysis of energy markets;
- Volatility modelling of energy prices and economic implications;
- Corporate social responsibility and green investment;
- Portfolio optimization including energy/commodities derivatives;
- Financialization of energy markets;
- Clean energy investments;
- Role of financial technology in energy market performance;
- Micro & macroeconomic analysis of energy, environment and green finance;
- Corporate finance and risk management related to energy;
- Financing, mergers & acquisitions in energy markets/industries;
- Managerial accounting & economics for energy related corporations;
- Capital structure, privatization and funding of energy companies;
- Econometric/statistical analysis of energy markets;
- Regulation and taxation of energy and green industries;
- Global and regional trade of energy products;
- Forecasting energy demand and improving energy efficiency; and
- Trading strategies related to the energy markets.

SUBMISSIONS AND IMPORTANT DATES:
Deadline, February 28, 2019: Deadline for Abstract/Paper Submission 
March 3, 2019: Notification of acceptance
March 10, 2019: Registration deadline and full paper submission

PUBLICATIONS:
Selected papers presented in the conference are eligible to be considered for publication in the Energy Economics (EE) and Economic Modelling (EM). If you wish your paper to be considered for publication in the EE or EM, please indicate so in your email. Note that the acceptance of a paper is not a guarantee of publication by the EE and EM. All selected papers will go through the journal's blind review process.

SPECIAL SESSIONS:
Three conference sessions will be sponsored by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).

REGISTRATION FEES (for the paper to be included in the programme): 
Registration fee (by March 10, 2019) is US$400

Hotel and related travel costs are not included in registration fees. Full registration fees include registration materials, welcome reception, coffee breaks, luncheons and conference dinner. Payment method will be provided in the paper acceptance letters by February 10, 2019.

About Xi’an
Xi'an is the capital of Shaanxi province in China. One of the oldest cities in China, Xi'an is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals, there are more than 13 important dynasties keeping their capital here. There are many historical relics in Xi’an, such as Terra-Cotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda,Hua-Qing Palace,and the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, Dajie areas and Xiao Zhai, the busiest commercial area is in the southern part of the city. Xi’an is also famous for its quantity of colleges throughout China. Xian is the most important city in northwest China, and so there are a lot of shopping outlets for locals and tourists alike.  The night life in Xian has a unique glamour, taking part in a Tang Dynasty Dinner Show, strolling on the ancient Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square and watching the music fountain performance. All in all, any experience in this ancient city will bring you fun and possibly a little surprise!
